Hallowe’en shall end with morning’s light;
Retailers play carols at the break of day —
Rage, rage against the dying of the night.
That holiday is best which gives us fright,
Yet stores want our money so they
Start Christmas sales now at morning’s light.
Ghost and zombie, ghast and geist and wight
Gain candy bribe, else trick if ye say nay.
Rage, rage against the dying of the night.
Not alone are witches stayed in flight —
Once even Tom the Turkey had his say;
Now Christmas sales start at morning’s light.
Children frolic ‘midst Jack O’ Lanterns bright
But big box stores now demand their pay
Rage, rage against the dying of the night.
Now cursed are we, with other shoppers fight
For toys children with but once play.
Christmas sales begin with morning’s light;
Rage, rage against the dying of the fright.
