People are on the news talking about an FDA authorization for Ivermectin use in treating COVID. It’s not true. They’re lying to you, perhaps coincidentally right after a minor pharma company just released their new formulation of Ivermectin. It’s pine scented now or something. And their stock price just went through the roof.
Follow the money, people! Do you think nobody in Congress just made a killing? Scurrilous rumor implicates Senator Ron Johnson, but I happen to believe he’s just an ignorant patsy who’s being used by someone close to him. Which isn’t any better for the country, but it’s less immoral.
Want to know more? Keep reading. Because Ivermectin really is a wonder drug, and it might possibly be used to treat viruses – especially in the new pine scent variety.

The fix is in, boys and girls. Chicago is as crooked as always. I know, I know; that’s not actually news. But it’s what I’ve got, so read it and shaddap.
It’s dead on the downtown Chicago streets today. The weather’s turned off nice and there’s a few people walking, but the normal traffic is… well, it’s downtown Chicago, so the traffic is deadly. Pedestrians, look both ways crossing one-way streets, and don’t jaywalk (more…)
The Not Fake News, as a general rule, tends to focus on events that fell out of the headlines too soon, or angles on stories that have plenty of merit but somehow get discarded by the major media. I’ve got me, my internet Brain Trust of volunteers, and whatever spare change people kick into the pot to pay my web costs.
There’s no need for me to repeat work that CNN (more…)
The newest Republican version of healthcare just passed the House and was instantly declared D.O.A. in the Senate. Which is good; it’s not enough of a fix. Then again, neither was the A.C.A. (otherwise known as Obamacare).
I’m not going to get into all the whithertos and whyfores right now; you can get that on every news channel. (Besides, I’ve already written about it a couple of times. Both are great articles; read them.) Instead, I’m going to tell you (more…)
The first step toward a solution is to know what the problem is.
Healthcare in this country has been the subject of widespread and highly politicized debate in recent years. Most of us agree that there’s something wrong, but we tend to disagree on what, exactly, that might be. It’s little wonder that the solutions that we try are subject to controversy — and that controversy includes widespread civil disobedience, of a type and breadth not seen since the civil rights era of the 1960s and 70s.
The trouble is, we don’t know what precisely is wrong. We haven’t diagnosed it. So… (more…)
For background, please read the post that inspired me out on Steven Brust’s blog, plus the original article he linked in his post. If you already think Amazon is evil, you might want to skip these; alternately, if you read them both, you’ll be able to feel more justified in your indignation. If, on the other (third?) hand, you feel that all corporations everywhere are evil… (more…)
