Two old stories made headlines again today, both Trump-Russia.  Neither one is news.

A short time ago, Rep. Devin Nunes (R. President Donald J. Trump:  The words are painful for many of us.  This is understandable; his persona is not one that engenders trust and comfort, and we’ve had it easy for eight years.  Obama was quietly charismatic and sought bipartisanship; Trump is almost diametrically opposite.  So yes, it’s a bit of a shock.

Stupid Move: Why Russia Is A Mistake

The United States House of Representatives is one of the most universally detested and despised body of lawmakers in existence.  Their approval rating is generally only just in the double digits, and most citizens would sooner trust used car salesmen.  A 2013 survey ranked congress south of head lice, root canals, and colonoscopies.

I’ve been resisting it for days, but — Jeez, America!  Are you all really this stupid?

Now, I’m going to start off by saying that I’m not a fan of Donald J. Trump, especially as president.  But he is, in fact, president, and he got there by having a very clever team drive the media cycle.  So it shouldn’t come as a surprise when he does it after he’s in office, should it?

But no; you’re all missing it.  From the Times to the Post to CNN all the way to Fox News, major media is missing it completely.  It’s the same damned slow curve they’ve been pitching for seven straight innings this series, and everyone still swings and reaches… and misses. (more…)
